It occurred to me there could be an issue with the license, so I checked https://tri.be/license-keys/ and could not log in. When I tried to get my password and put in my email address it said “ERROR: There is no user registered with that email address.” But I know I paid for and had a working license.

please ignore the second post. I am using the free version. Still stuck on why it suddenly doesn’t work.

    Hi petalumapie,

Thanks for your post. I’m sorry you’re having trouble. The first thing to do is update to our most recent version, 3.8, and see if that help. Have you tried deactivating other plugins to look for a conflict, or switching to a default theme like Twenty Twelve? That would be the next step. If you need help, please read this guide to testing for conflicts.

If you can isolate this as an issue that’s inherent to The Events Calendar, we’d be happy to look into it further. Unfortunately, we can’t help troubleshoot conflicts here on the free forum. If you do find a conflict, you can try getting in touch with the developer of the theme or plugin and see if they can shed some light on the issue.

We also have some resources that might be helpful for you in troubleshooting a conflict:

? Themer’s Guide – provides an overview of how to customize the plugin’s frontend appearance.
? Tutorials – useful tips and tricks for changing how the plugin looks and behaves.
? Technical Docs – provides an overview of the classes and functions in each plugin

Good luck, and thanks for using The Events Calendar!

    Hi Leah,

I have turned off all other plugins and also switched the theme to 2012 and it still behaved the same. I am on an older version of wordpress, 3.6.1 as I have had wordpress upgrades break things. It looks like The Events Calendar 3.8 requires wp 3.8 or higher, so that will take a bit of doing. Was this known to be an issue with version 3.5.1? Is it possible to downgrade to one that worked before?

    Hi petalumapie,

That’s not a known issue with 3.5.1, but I do suspect it has to do with the fact that you are running outdated code both for TEC and WordPress. We aren’t able to provide much support for you on an outdated version. But if you’d like to downgrade you can download an older version of the plugin from https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/the-events-calendar/developers/.

    Best,
    Leah

After setting everything up on a test server, this particular version of TEC and that particular version of WP were the culprit. Updating wordpress to 4.0 solved the problem and then I updated TEC to 3.8.1 and nothing broke.

    Thank you.

Glad to hear it! If you have a minute or two, we would love it if you left us a review. Thank you for your support!
