• There are numerous post on the web about this issue going back more than a year but as of 3/22/12 have not found a fix. I am having the same issue as everyone else with a number of different themes and the NextGEN plugin. Setting Featured Image in WP page or post edit shows the image in the featured image panel but it does not show up anywhere when published, no thumbnails, no featured image. The only way it works is to upload a duplicate image to the WP media library and get it from there. As a photographer managing hundreds of images this bug cripples work-flow and defeats having NextGEN cleanly manage all my photos.

Google “nextgen featured image” to view all the developer posts regarding this problem.

Same problem here. Some people claim to have the solution by going through the Media Manager, and yes, I can select an image from NG, but it only shows on the post’s panel. Click on the image again, and Media Manager shows an empty gray box. And as you say, the image shows nowhere else either. Not good.

I am having the same problem. I can set a featured image using Add Media > NextGEN Gallery > [full directions here], but it does not display on the frontend.

In case it matters, we are using the Genesis framework
