I am running IP Geo Block 3.0.13 on WP Version 4.9.8
    Under
Settings > IP Geo Block > Validation rule settings
    the option
    > Max number of failed login attempts per IP address
is set to the default value of “Disable”. The problem is that this option is grayed out and cannot be changed.

I suspect a conflict with previously installed Limit Login Attempts plug-in.
(That plug-in is no longer listed under Installed Plugins, so cannot easily be disabled, but is still functioning as the Settings > Limit Login Attempts page is still available. I tried removing the limit-login-attempts directory under mu-plugins, but permissions don’t allow. I also tried installing and deinstalling the replacement plug-in Limit Login Attempts Reloaded 2.7.1, but the original plug-in remains.)

    Any ideas?

    Hi @rob66bnu,

Thank you for using my plugin.

I’m sorry but the UI of “Max number of failed login attempts per IP address” is unclear. This can be selectable when “Record “IP address Cache”” in “Privacy and record settings” section is enabled.

As for Limit Login Attempts, if you can use some file manager like FTP or cPanel, please try it to change permission and remove unneeded files.

I hope this can help you to solve the issue.

    Thanks for asking!

    Thanks for the quick response.
Selecting “Record “IP address Cache”” in “Privacy and record settings” did the trick.
