• After I upgraded to version 3.6 I can not update posts I posted before the upgrade.
After editing the post I press Update and then I get a page “Oops page can not be found”

Can anyone help me fix this?

  • You need to use a database management tool like Phpmyadmin. Your hosts should be able to help with this.

I didn’t cleanup the db because it didn’t feel OK.

BUT!!! now I had the same issue with a new post. I have a categories and subcategories. When I add categories on the first level it keeps working fine until it is only categorised by sub categories.

BTW WP will make my subcategorie a main categorie?? This might be a bug which I will work around. Am I the only one?

I did check it again and it won’t change the categorie (wrong statement in my previous post). But when selecting only the sub categorie without its parent it will be shown awkwardly because for some reason all checked categories will be sorted first.

But unchecking all current categories and selecting new categories will trigger an issue on my page. I can reproduce it on scheduled posts as well.

Have you repaired your database tables yet?

    Hi esmi,
I am also facing the same problem while updating my previous posts in wordpress 3.6. Though the caption above shows post updated but in fact it never updates.
I have tried everything you suggested above. Tried deactivating the plugins, changing the theme, installing the wordpress again but nothing helped. Your immediate help in the matter is much appreciated.

Finally repaired the tables but no different behaviour. Still the “Oops the page can not be found” after updating post.

@ravi Kochhar – please start your own thread per the forum guidelines – https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post

It does not work well to have multiple conversations in the same thread.

Rollback the update, change to the previous WordPress version installed!
deactivate all plugins and themes then update again, i think this will fix the error!
**Backup your “/wp-content” folder, wp-config.php, and database before do any changes
