Cannot update posts and pages

  • Hello…. apologies I should have started a new topic rather than replying to a similar problem of another user. Here is my topic / problem:

    I cannot update posts or pages. If I clear the text in either and re=paste the new text in plain text, press update, no text is saved/published. Also if I alter the text in Edit mode the alterations are not saved. In addition, pressing ‘Publish’ or ‘Update’ in all cases returns me to the front end with no changes to the text.

    I can change ‘featured images’whilst in Edit mode

    I am running WP 4.2.2 with minimal plugins (Akismet also currently not working – receiving message that WP.org is not working), W3 Total Cache and NextCellent Gallery. My theme is Catch Khatmandhu Pro

    These problems have only been apparent since the automatic upgrades through 4.1 to 4.2.1 and 4.2.2
