Hi @glennsvfr,

Most likely this is caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:

– Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront (https://www.woocommerce.com/storefront/)
– Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
– Repeat the action of updating the database

If you’re able to update the database after switching the theme and disabling plugins, then it’s clear the problem was with a plugin and/or theme you deactivated. Generally, this procedure is needed to figure out which plugin is causing the problem, then you can reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing your site after each, and see if all is running without issues. Hi Mirko,

Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately, despite following them the database is still not upgraded after clicking manual upgrade. I get a message saying “Database upgrade routine has been scheduled to run in the background.” I guess it should then be visible in the list of scheduled actions?

Can you please temporarily switch to the default
Storefront theme and also deactivate all other plugins except for WooCommerce? Once you have only the WooCommerce plugin active please update WooCommerce to the latest version available (5.3.0).

I have just found that loop-back requests don’t work with my hosting provider, which would explain why the db update is not performed. I have opened a ticket with the hosting provider and will keep you posted.
