• Hi,
I have just installed NextGEN Gallery via the www.ads-software.com site.
When trying to upload files via Gallery>Add Gallery/Images when I attempt to do this through the Create Gallery interface I receive an error message stating that an unknown error occurred.
I used ftp to add the photographs I wanted under wp-content as per the instructions, and then attempted to import the folder – this resulted in a continual Importing Gallery>In Progress without any resolution, no matter how long I left it.
I deactivated all of my plugins aside from NextGen but this made no difference.
I have an up to date installation of WordPress, and of NextGEN.
As far as I know all of mySQL, PHP etc is up to date.
    I am hosted with 123-Reg.
I am running the theme TwentyTen with a child theme.
My plugins are: Access Monitor, Akismet, BackUpWordPress, BloginBlog, cookie-cat, Custom Contact Forms, Display Posts Shortcode, Google Analytics by Yoast, Jetpack, Meta Slider, Multicons, Ninja Forms, oik-privacy-policy, oik base plugin, Wistia WordPress Plugin, WordPress SEO, WP Accessibility and WP Display Header.

Is the error likely to be because of issues to do with PHP? I ask because I do not have constant access to the Control Panel for my site – it is owned and paid for by someone else, and they hold the account password. I can get this from them but I do not want to trouble them unnecessarily.

    Hoping you can help,
    Emma

@alnwickanglican – Although your Server Settings do not appear out of line I am concerned with the “PHP Max Script Execute Time : N/As” being noted … can you contact our web hosting service to ensure this is a reasonable value (generally 60s will be fine but higher limits would be nice to know you have room to play in).

If that number is in a decent range, pleas send us a Bug Report (https://nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a closer look at your site.

We will likely need log in (and FTP) credentials for your WordPress installation, please include those with our Bug Report, too.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
