• Here is our situation:
Our client’s WordPress site is using your plugin for photo galleries.
About 2 months ago they had a security issue with their site so they asked us to keep it up to date with the version upgrades for WordPress and all plugins.
It was some time after that they tried to upload again and what happens is the first of many images gets to 100% but none of the others load.
Then it takes about 15 minutes before the website starts responding normally and you can see that the one image is uploaded to the gallery you specified but none of the others are.
If you attempt to use the folder import, it says to select a folder but no folders are listed to be selected.
I have tried downgrading the plug-in through all versions of 2.x with no success for uploading multiple images although a few of the early ones allowed me to pick a folder to import from. I also tried disabling all other plugins and going to a standard twenty theme and the latest version of the plugin still behaves the same way.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -Simon

  • Hi Simon …

I too get major issues uploading images with the following error …

“An unexpected error occurred. This is most likely due to a server misconfiguration. Check your PHP error log or ask your hosting provider for assistance.”

Every uploaded image would create its own gallery … nightmare!

Simply uploading the images in a zip file sorted all my problems. No more errors and only the one created gallery… BLISS!

    It just may work!

    Good luck!

    Hello Fred,

I tried uploading a .zip file of a few images and it behaved the same way. The .zip uploaded to 100% but it still said “Uploaded 0/1” and never completes.

    Thanks for the suggestion though.

@fred Dreiling – Thanks for the suggestion. IF you are still “forced” to use this work-around please feel free to start a new topic as your issue appears to be different from the OP … or you can also submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/) with your site’s specific’s as well.

@teamits – Upload issues can be from so many different variables it can be very difficult to get the troubleshooting ball rolling and start eliminating possible issues although you have started with the basic of plugin/theme conflict checks.

I would look at file/folder permissions for the gallery folders to ensure they are correctly inheriting the permissions from the /wp-content/ folder. You should have them as 0755 for folders and 0644 for files (or their equivalents).

Otherwise you are welcome to submit a Bug Report for your site as well.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

    Thanks, Cais for your response.

I did check the permissions as you suggested and they were correct.

I have submitted a bug report and will pursue in that direction.

    Thanks again,
