• I’m about at the end of my rope here. Starting to get quite frustrated. I keep getting the ‘Failed to write to disk’ error message. I’ve read all the posts I could find about fixing it. I’ve set permissions to 777 on my wp-content folder. I’ve changed the name of the folder to a million different things, in both the admin and on my ftp, I reverted back to the default wp-content/uploads and STILL no joy.

    Has anyone get any ideas?

  • Typical WordPress installs only need the wp-content/ directory to be 777 (so that WordPress can create the wp-contents/uploads folder). If you enabled Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders then the subdirectories need to be checked as well (wp-content/uploads/2006/06 for example).

Yep tried that, I reinstalled my whole blog. Then before trying to upload a picture I changed the permissions on wp-content to 777. And it won’t upload. Thanks for the reply though.

Well fired off an email to Yahoo! Hopefully they can sort it out. It’s a terribly annoying problem. Thanks Yosemite for the responces.
