I recently upgraded to WP Photo Album Plus v5 and it appeared to fail and I had to deactivate, remote the plugin directory and install from v5 directly. Everything appears fine, in terms of what was there before. However, when I created a new album and attempted to load multiples (every way – multiples, select multiple singles, import from depot and media library, etc.) it brings me to https://www.keeponpedaling.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wppa_upload_photos with just a blank page and it appears to only load the first image in the selected files to upload. The page will show some messages during an import (green indicating image loaded – first one – and also red indicating duplicate that did not load).
    I have tried the following:
1 – disabling all plug-ins and using twenty twelve theme only.
2 – all of the available reset to defaults and cleanups in table VIII A that were relevant.
    3 – turned on debugging

I am at a loss and would appreciate any help you can offer. I have quite a few albums/photos and would hate to have to start over.

  • Hi Jaap,
I have the same problem and tried small images (9kb) 200×200 pixels. No luck either.

What are exactly the symptoms, and did you add define('WP_DEBUG', true); to wp-config.php to see a possible error?

Same problem. It’s the only plugin installed and theme is Twenty Twelve.

    Message showing (in french, sorry):

Notice: WP_Admin_Bar::add_node est appelée de la mauvaise manière. L’identifiant du menu ne devrait pas être vide. Veuillez consulter la page Debugger dans WordPress (EN) pour plus d’informations. (Ce message a été ajouté à la version 3.3.) in /home/***/www/photos-famille/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2959

    @li-an:

This error is not relevant and most likely not caused by wppa

You are right. Sorry, I should have done the test before: it’s the child theme that caused the error message.
So there is no error message… And the “bug” is still there with Twenty Twelve and no other plugin activated.

Check Table IX-A3 ( Allow wppa+ debugging ) and supply me a link to the site, then i can see more.

You can take a look at this test site: https://jmmeyer00.alwaysdata.net/blogtest/album-photo/

Similar (same?) problem here – I can upload as many photos as I want, using any of the methods, but it’s the IMPORT that hangs. At that point, I can import one photo at a time, but the plugin does not delete the originals from the depot. I have downgraded to the previous version, and everything works again.

Any idea of a fix in the near future?

As i said before: i can not reproduce this problem.

As i asked before: please inspect the server error log for error(s) that may cause this.

Before I downgraded, I turned on debugging, but didn’t find any relevant errors in the server’s error log, or apache’s error log. The server isn’t logging PHP, so I can’t provide any info on that.

If it is a ‘hang’ as in an infinite loop, one would expect a server time-out, that would be logged in the server error log.

If any of you can re-install the latest version – at least a version showing the problem – and give me an login account with admin rights, i possibly can see something more. The only effect it will have that you can not upload for a day or so, until i found it…

If you are willing to do so, pls mail me at: opajaap at opajaap dot nl, referring to this problem.

I would love to fix it, but without reproducing or any error info, i am unable to do.

Just another question: Did anybody who has the problem tested the frontend upload? I would like to know if its there also.

What is the frontend upload ?

If you mean the standard WordPress upload, mine has had no problems, either before downgrading or after. As I said earlier, for me it’s an import issue.

By “hang” I mean it gets to the import page, I select the images that I have uploaded en masse to my depot, make sure it’s pointing to the proper album and hit IMPORT.

At that point, that side of the screen goes white except for a green notice bar at the top of the page a that says:

Processing files, please wait… If the line of dots stops growing or your browser reports Ready, your server has given up. In that case: try again here.

It progresses no further, even if I’m uploading just a single photo. I’ve waited at least 10 minutes on a couple of occasions. The site is still functional, so I can go into the album, and only one of the photos will have been added. If I go back into the depot, the photo that was imported has not been deleted from the depot.

I hope that helps clarify things, at least for my issue, if not the general issue. Unfortunately, I can’t give you the kind of access you’re requesting. If it was my personal site, sure, but it’s my employer’s site.

I also can’t re-update to the latest release, since our site is live and in constant use. Again, if it was my personal site, I would be glad to help in this way.
