cannot upload site after deleting Theme

What theme was that? Where did you download the theme from? Might have some obfuscated code which wreaked havoc to your site. And I’ve seen a theme where one had to upload 3 different folders to different parts of WP (not only theme folder) so could it be you haven’t deleted all parts of the theme?

More importantly, did you check if your WP tables still there in the database? Do you have backup of your database and server files?

How did you “delete” the theme? Via FTP or did you mean you changed in Admin > Appearances > Themes? Can you FTP re-upload WordPress to your server? Have you contacted your webhost i.e. bytehost.com if they can send you your account’s database backup.
