Cannot upload video..security error message

    UGG- video on the web! So many formats and so many problems with them!

    I wanted to upload a video to my WP site and use directly in my post with HTML5 video tags. The video was originally an .avi which I used Miro Converter to turn to .ogv which will play in HTML5 video tags I believe (though I’m not sure if for all browsers or just Firefox-it plays as a local file in an html page on my desktop).

    Anyway when I try to upload this video from WP post media upload it won’t upload and a security error message is given.
    When I check what files WP allows to upload I see .ogv is allowed so I do not understand why it won’t allow this file upload (as it has .ogv extension)?
    I’m grateful if anyone can tell me or give advice, thanks

    I’m guessing this is a size limitation on your host? Could be wrong though

    I should have added I don’t think it is a size issue..The .ogg size is 6.9MB and my WP media maximum upload file size: 14MB.

    I’m still trying videoconverters (have used Miro/Handbrake with no success yet and now am trying free version of easyhtml5video converter…)

    I GIVE UP!!

    I get the same security error uploading .webm .m4v

    Perhaps there is some way I can use html5 tags directly in my post & upload these files to my server NOT through WordPress media uploader BUT it is just too much effort…..I’ve spent way too much time with this sorry state of video use through WordPress!

    Thankfully the video I was trying to insert in my post is freely available on YouTube so I can just add a YouTube embed code to my post and I have done and the video displays.
