• Hi, I have Broadcast set up on our main football website lastwordonfootball.com. Writers are broadcasting their articles to one of 6 child sites such as ArsenalFootball.co.

I know where the settings are to set canonical in the plugin, but I want to know what has to be done to assure that canonical is going to lastwordonfootball.com and not the child sites. The wording of that checkbox leads me to believe that:

    1. If the box IS NOT checked, the parent site gets canonical link.
    2. If the box IS checked, the child site gets canonical link.

Do I have that right? I just want to make sure we are building SEO authority on the correct site.

    Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

If the box is checked, the child posts have their canonicals pointed to the parent post.

If the box is not checked, the child posts have their canonicals pointed to themselves.

Needless to say, the box should be checked. ??

    Hello
Does child post will be indexed on search engines?
I have posts that I want to share between blogs but I need blogs posts to be indexed.

From what I understand, if the canonical URL is set the browser will not index the broadcasted page, since it’s not the original source.
