    Hi,

    We can see in the reply you identified several areas of concern. We have responded to them below. If we missed any, please let us know!

    A. Pagination Archive Pages like https://www.morningdough.com/stories/page/2/ Fail to show the rel next or prev AND ALSO do not canonical to self
    We would like some more information.

    1. We had another recent release. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v15.2.1? If you update, does the issue resolve?

    2. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

    3. How are the /stories/ being created? Is https://www.morningdough.com/stories a custom post type? If so, are you using a plugin to make it? Which one?

    B. Canonical Shows Post ID
    1. Does clearing your caching from your theme, plugin, server, CDN like CloudFlare or browser resolve the issue? If you are not sure how to clear caching from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from a browser use this guide: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/

    2. If you use the Yoast Helper Tool before a post is published does the issue resolve? Please try the steps below:
    – i. Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin:?https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/yoast-test-helper/
    – ii. Go to Tools -> Yoast Test
    – iii. Locate the Yoast SEO section and select the “Reset indexables tables & migrations” button
    – iv. Click the “SEO Data” button in the SEO->Tools section.

    Hi
    Thank you for your help!!

    A. Pagination Archive Pages like https://www.morningdough.com/stories/page/2/ Fail to show the rel next or prev AND ALSO do not canonical to self
    We would like some more information.

    1. I was at Yoast SEO, v15.2.1 – and now updated to 15.3 – still no change

    2. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated? YES

    3. The page /stories/ is being created using Elemtor Pro and Post Grid

    This is what I wrote before after checking also with Elemntor support

    I open a support ticket at elementor – and they answer that they do not add those rel= lines and I should check with you

    at the same time, I am using elementor and archive grid to display archive pages – and as you can see – this is fine

    https://www.morningdough.com/category/affiliate-marketing/page/2/

    and here the settings are correct
    <link rel=”canonical” href=”https://www.morningdough.com/category/affiliate-marketing/page/2/” />
    <link rel=”prev” href=”https://www.morningdough.com/category/affiliate-marketing/” />
    <link rel=”next” href=”https://www.morningdough.com/category/affiliate-marketing/page/3/” />

    It looks like using Elemntor Pro Post grid cause the problem while in the archive pages – using Elementor Pro Archive post grid – the problem doesn’t exist

    B. Canonical Shows Post ID
    I have clear all caches – with no change
    I have installed Yoast Test Helper and Reset indexables tables & migrations and Click on SEO Data

    I will need to schedule another post and recheck if the problem is solved – I will update you

    Thank you for your help

    Thanks for sharing all the relevant information with us. We are sorry to see that you are still experiencing the relevant issue. Let’s dig deeper to see what’s exactly happening.

    Pagination Archive Pages like https://www.morningdough.com/stories/page/2/ Fail to show the rel next or prev AND ALSO do not canonical to self
    We understand that Yoast SEO fails to show the rel="next", rel="prev", and the correct self-canonical URL for the archive pages /stories/ and /dailynews/ created by using the Post Grid Elementor Addon. It looks like Yoast SEO isn’t detecting the relevant archive pages as an archive and as such, it’s not generating the necessary canonical URLs.

    In this case, we recommend you please reach out to the relevant addon support and ask for more information about how the plugin is creating the archive pages where Yoast SEO is failing to detect them as an archive so that we can investigate the issue further for you.
