Canonical Redirect
-
I have https set as the Preferred canonical URL scheme.
However, when debugging the OG meta data (Sharing Debugger), when testing the main URL I get redirected to the http setting as being Canonical.

Hi Harry,
By any chance, do you use object caching? If so, be sure to clear that.
The URLs render perfectly on your AMP pages — which don’t use object caching for SEO meta. After you’ve cleared the cache, check back in with the Sharing Debugger — you can clear the cache of the content there to see if everything’s working correctly.
Cheers!
I don’t believe that I am using object caching. I had been using CloudFlare but I turned off about 5+ days ago.
I’m on Dreamhost with the default setup, and then a bunch of plugins. I can send you a screenshot of which ones are active.. but here is a copy and paste (see below).

I do see I also have a drop-in cache. I think this is what you were asking about..

That’s what I was talking about ??
I believe there should be an extra option for you available in the General Settings metabox on the SEO Settings page.
In the performance tab you should see something like this:The object cache is run on all posts, pages, archives, etc… but not AMP.
The cache is maintained for 24 hours or by your overwriting setting. So you could do any of the following:
1. Wait for 24 hours or the overwriting time.
2. Flush the cache.
3. Disable the object caching option.I hope this helps! Best of luck ??
You are using Object Caching, since https://www.talkingabouteverything.com is on DreamPress which uses Memcached and Varnish ??
You’ll want to be sure varnish-http-purge is active, since without that your Varnish cache will NEVER flush when you update content, and always have to expire. And yes, that would cause your cannonicals to show wrong.

Canonical is now showing https ??
Thanks
Thanks Mika. I don’t have Varnish purge on..
I will look at that ??

I flushed your object cache for you. If you ever find it’s stuck, just ping Tech Support and ask them to flush Memcached. It’s usually not a problem but once in a while it gets really stupid.
