    Dear support,

    I would like to have the canonical on the pagination pages of the shop page to link to the pagination pages it self instead of the shop page. I thought this was default behavior for the Yoast plugin as I also saw comments in this section in which it was advised, however for some reason it is not working and I can’t find a setting to change.

    Could you please help out?

    Thanks!

  • Hey @floristenberge,

    Thank you for using Yoast SEO and for reaching out!

    I opened up the URL you provided, and I’m seeing the correct canonical:

    <link rel="canonical" href="https://www.slick-sneakers.com/sneakers/page/2/" />
    <link rel="prev" href="https://www.slick-sneakers.com/sneakers/" />
    <link rel="next" href="https://www.slick-sneakers.com/sneakers/page/3/" />

    Can you let us know if you see anything else? I did load the URL without Autoptimize to make sure I was looking at a non-cached version. I did that by appending the URL with ?ao_noptimize=1
