canonical url pointing to amp

  • Hey, GSC is showing issue that AMP pages are pointing canonical urls to themselves, how to change this in your plugin please?

    I did some things and looks like it is not happening right now.
    Should amp act like this?:
    A normal page has canonical url to itself
    amp page has canonical to normal page

    Because before there were canonical to amp on both versions

    Yes, if your setup is as follows,”A normal page has its canonical URL pointing to itself and An AMP page has its canonical URL pointing to the normal page.” Then your setup sounds correct because this is the correct configuration as the normal page is considered the main version, while the AMP page is an alternative for mobile users. Following this setup also helps prevent duplicate content issues.
