    Hello.
This is probably a silly question, but I need to ask anyway.
In SEO Framework some parts – like the canonical URL – is greyed out. Does this mean that the URL written there by the plugin is the Canonical one, or do I have to put it in manually=?

Also I have found other areas that have this grey text. As I understand these are parts that are automatically filled with the suggestet′d text if I don’t change it? (Facebook, Twiter and so on).

Thx for a good plugin. I think I am learning it now ??

    Hi Thomas,

Correct, those parts are “placeholders” to show you what the output on the front-end will be if you were to leave it empty :).

I recommend not touching the Canonical URL at all, unless you really know the power of it (it can make your pages disappear from Google, and others more likely to be exposed). The canonical URL is carefully forged to prevent duplication mistakes.

The same goes for the Robots settings, it’s best to leave them unchecked unless you really know what they do.
The local search setting can’t hurt your site, but it will remove the page from the local WordPress search results (e.g. through a widget).

    About the description:
Since 2.5.0 of The SEO Framework, the Facebook/Twitter description is generated differently (about 22% longer, without Blogname, separator and Title). Filling this in manually will overwrite both descriptions.
This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t forge your own description. A custom description is recommended, although not required :).

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions or find difficulties ??
Thanks and have a great day ??
