Can't access account. Noob needs help pls…

  • I’ve not accessed my account for a few days and when I’ve tried to log in I can’t.
    It says the password is wrong (which I’m pretty sure it isn’t) and when I click the forgotten password link to get an email sent so I can reset my password nothing arrives in my inbox (I’ve checked my junk email too) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Try put it simple for me though as like I said I’m a noob at all this! Thanks

    Thanks, I found that page but it might as well be in another language to me

    Automatic emailer isn’t working
    FTP – how can I log into that if I don’t know my password?
    WP CLI – tried but don’t understand.
    and all the others go completely over my head

    Is there any way I can get someone to sort it for me? Submit a ticket for example?

    FTP has nothing to do with your wordpress login. You can also log into your hosts control panel and use the file manager they provide for you.

    Those services aren’t provided here. You are self-hosted, and not on a free blog provided by wordpress.com, is that correct?

    You will have to edit your database to either add a new user that is an admin or change your password. This article should help you. Consult your hosting company and they should be happy to help you do this.
