    Hi,

Disaster! I’ve somehow broken my site and now can’t access the admin area at all – front end still displaying fine.

    Here’s what I was doing…

There was an issue with my theme so I was checking for plugin conflicts.

I deactivated Birds Custom Login, Crafty Social Buttons then Formidable Pro one by one. Then suddenly, admin vanished.

I’ve deleted all three plugins via hosting file manager, but still no joy.

    What can I do?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Thank you!

That’s the first time I’ve used PHPmyAdmin and it was a breeze (I’d been scared of it for so long!)

The corrupt plugin is Formidable Pro Payment, which is a pain as it’s powering one of the main functions of the site.

But at least I can get into admin again. Thanks so much for your help!

(Just to update for anyone reading this: I deleted Formidable Pro Payment plugin and re-installed, and now everything is fine. So I can’t explain how it became corrupt, but a fresh installation shows that the plugin itself is not faulty.)

Excellent, at least it’s working now. ??
