• My current problem (one of many it looks like) is that when I login, instead of being at mysite.com/wp-admin/, I’m sent to the domain root, mysite.com. The black bar at the top of the page displays, showing that I’m logged in, but I have no access to the admin controls. This site uses BeTheme Child in a shared hosting environment. The host recently upgraded to php 7.2. BeTheme is supposedly compatible, but the site broke, it was just showing a white page. Through the host’s control panel I was able to change the theme to twentynineteen and at least get a page up stating there’s a problem with the website. I have renamed the plugins directory to disable all of them. I’ve gone so far as to manually install the latest WordPress even, but still no luck.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @stevex64,
this issue might be related to some particular function within your theme. Please try to temporary switch to a default WP theme and check if it’s working. If it does, it means you have to take a look at your theme’s functions.php file in order to inspect and search for some kind of redirect after login functionality: just because i suppose you’ve lost some of the admin privileges.
