I cannot access my admin dashboard. When I sign in, I get the message:

“Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

And, when I’m on the site, the black wordpress bar says that I’m signed in, and when I click on the upper left area to go to the dashboard, I just get a page reload.

I haven’t added any content, or updated any plug-ins recently. I was just accessing it today to make some typo corrections.

I can only guess, but it could somehow be related to your cookies/session.
Have you tried to log in incognito/private mode? https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95464?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop

Hi @etjnc ,

There could be different reasons for this error. The user role might have changed which you are using. Try using a different admin account if you have one and see how it goes.

I’ve tried other log-in suggestion, got the same message again.

I also tried clicking on ‘Lost Your Password’ to try and reset the password … I’ve not received email from WordPress with instructions and link to do so, it’s been at least half an hour or so.

I’ll dig through the Kinsta blog post … thanks again!

Resetting the password won’t help if you can log in but can’t access the dashboard only. Try to check the other suggestions from the blog and see how it goes. ??

Luckily after some more back and forth I was able to restore a previous version, find out the culprit Plug-In.

@rosbiffer You can try to rename the plugins folder of your website and see how it goes.
