• So I can’t get in and resetting the password isn’t working because the link they give you just comes up in error.

here’s the email I get if I request a password change

Someone has asked to reset the password for the following site and username.
    https://www.chaletconsultant.com/blog
    Username: admin
To reset your password visit the following address, otherwise just ignore this email and nothing will happen.
    https://www.chaletconsultant.com/blog/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=Y5^^h98T95Ng

but the link is crap…you just get this message “Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid”

please help – i can’t do any work now!

thanks – I tried carlla, your way didn’t work – I would type in my new password, select md5 and save. it would return to the browse screen with nothing changed.

James – I only have the ability to use the myphp, I have no programming ability whatsoever and yours was the same as carlla

not only that but I have now buggered the entire blog – now getting the page coming up with – “Error establishing a database connection”

    aaarrggghhh!!

okay I have just tried it again and it seems to have saved the password this time. It was only when I asked it to stay on the same page that this occured.

my blog is still offline now though? what have i done here?

Did you typed any code? or just change the password on database?

as far as I know – just changed the password – i don’t remember putting in anything anywhere else..

This error not seems to be a configuration error or any code error. But even though you should check your wp-config.php and see the database info still ok ( the host name , database name and password are rigth? )

I guess this error means your database is down. At least it was my problem when had this error times ago. What is your host server? I had to ask they to fix this. On my case, there were a lot of process running on server that shouldn’t to.
