Can't access locally installed WordPress

What happens when you go to https://localhost:8888/wp-local

Same thing happens. I have tried every combination with https://localhost/ that I can think of.

my WordPress files are stored in a folder named wp-local,

But, when I then try to connect to my local WordPress with any browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox) via https://localhost:8888/wordpresslocal

So which one is it? ?? wordpresslocal or wp-local?

One uses the folder name of the install within Applications > MAMP > htdocs, which you initially state is wp-local. If that is in fact the case, then you access the install (and the front end of the site after installation) using:

https://localhost:8888/wp-local

You probably have, but also make sure both Apache and MySQL servers are running ??

I did have Apache and MySQL running in MAMP. I have tried every combination I could think of. Nothing gets me where i want to go! I wsh someone could take over my computer and see if they get the same result I do.

I will try https://localhost:8888/wp-local. If it works, I’ll tell you.

I think I must have tried https://localhost:8888/wp-local before. Anyway, that doesn’t work, either. I keep going to a list of documents and tutorials that I could open, but not to a WordPress installation screen. Thanks, SniffleValve, for the suggestion anyway. And thanks to everyone for their suggestions, but I’m still totally balked.
