• Hello, all. I’m going crazy! I have an iMac running OS X 10.10.5. I have followed very carefully the Codex document, “Installing WordPress Locally on Your Mac With MAMP,”supplemented by other documents plus WordPress Forum posts, with many iterations, deleting the results of previous installations before starting a new one. There seem to be no problems with installing MAMP or downloading and unzipping WordPress. My Apache port is 8888, my database is named wordpresslocal, and my WordPress files are stored in a folder named wp-local, a subfolder under htdocs (under the folder MAMP, under Applications). But, when I then try to connect to my local WordPress with any browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox) via https://localhost:8888/wordpresslocal, I don’t get a WordPress installation screen but only “Web Results”–a list of documents and tutorials–and no error message. So I can do nothing, and I’m totally stymied. What to try next? What’s going wrong?
Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated.
