• I changed the settings in General to have both the site address and the url address of my domain. Now the site does not work and I cannot log back in to admin panel to change back to previous settings. This is the error I get when I try to log in.
    Not Found
The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

  • Please review this codex article on how to fix above (and also please consult host to ensure correct url to use in this):

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL

Login to your database through whatever your host uses, usually phpMyAdmin

Then in your WordPress database go to the options table
Find siteurl row (its usually the first row) and change the URL back to the one that works.
Also find home row and change the URL back to the one that works.

Then check your site, it should work again.

Thanks for the help. Jeff I tried your suggestion but it did not work. I was able to get back to the dashboard, but none of the pages worked.
I undid that, then tried option 2 from the codex page on wordpress as suggested above and this also did not fully work either. The presentation page comes up, posts can be created, and can be found in uncategorised. But none of the old posts and pages are not loading up, and if I try categorise a new post, it can’t be found. So, something must have changed the location of all the old posts and pages. The links don’t work. Posts are all there, can be edited, but they won’t link from the public interface. So, any ideas to try? This is kind of fun. I have never tried any code file editting like this since I took Fortran programming back in the 70’s.
