    Hi,
My site was up and running last month.
Today I go to change it and I can’t access it. I see the page https://www.mysite/wp-admin/install.php which is the WordPress welcome page. It reads:
    “Welcome

Welcome to the famous five minute WordPress installation process! You may want to browse the ReadMe documentation at your leisure. Otherwise, just fill in the information below and you’ll be on your way to using the most extendable and powerful personal publishing platform in the world.”

Reading the forum suggests my database file is corrupt. I don’t have a back up of this. also, I don’t have any backup of the text that was on the site. This is most important to me.

    TWO Questions:
1.Do I go ahead and fill in the information this page requests – site title and my email – and press the “install WordPress” button. I guess this wipes out everything I had before.

    2. If I do have to recreate the site, is there any way I can get the text from the original pages (I have tried FTPing the data but can’t find the text) before wiping it all?

Thanks for your help, in advance!

It would be most helpful if you could share your url so we can take a look at the error message.

What happens when you go to just the url (no admin area)? If you are still seeing your site, then your database is still there.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your response.

If I go to the URL there is no website, just the WordPress screen.

    site is https://www.waverleypersonaltraining.com.au

Hoping there is some way I can recover the text on the site.
    Thanks!

Can you get to phpMyAdmin and run a repair on your MySQL database? If you aren’t able to do this, your hosting support might be able to help you.
