Hello. I installed BPS to secure my website. I went to the options, used both of the magic buttons and proceeded to use the bps security options. I checked the first one on the top and clicked Activate. When I did the same thing with the 2nd option my website crashed completely. All I see now is the following.

    Internal Server Error 500

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

I can’t configure BPS or access my dashboard or anything, my website is completely unaccesible, is there any way I can restore it with only FTP and mysql? Will it work if I delete one of the files BPS created? I did a backup before I started using BPS. Note that I also had Better WP Security and Wordfence running before I started BPS. Please help, thank you.

Update: I just deleted both htacess. files to see if it would work and my site seems to be working again, I also deleted Bulletproof Security from the FTP client, is my site now vulnerable because of deleting these two files? Why can’t I install BPS safely? Thanks and sorry for the auto bump

There are few things that can cause 500 Internal Server errors. The most common causes are listed in the link below.

A couple other rare/not common issues that are pending being added to the Forum link above are below. Only consider these as possibilities after checking the things in the link above.

    mod_security SecRule/SecFilter issue/problem.
Adding invalid .htaccess file to BPS Custom Code.
