I tried to install the RSS plugin and when I activated it, I got “fatal error” message. I deactivated and deleted the plugin but my site is still showing an error and now I can’t even access my admin page or backpage of my website. I need HELP someone ASAP…. Here is the message I keep getting:

If you delete the plugin files, then try clearing your browser cache and cookies.

Try backing up, then deleting your plugins folder.

And your blog was working before that plugin?

Yes it was working fine till yesterday morning. I will try backing it up and deleting the folder and let you know what happens. Thanks

trb, you should only need to delete the __MACOSX file/folder (I’m not sure which it is).

/home/hotrehab/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/__MACOSX/

Thanks, but I can’t access my administration page of my wordpress site. HOw do I get to this folder if I can’t access the admin? Do you mean delete it from my hard drive? Forgive me for the questions but I am not too CPU technical, especially with these sites.

How did you install WordPress and how did you install the Plugin causing the problem?

FTP stands for file transfer protocol, and it’s the most common way of moving files from one computer to another.

https://filezilla-project.org/ is a free FTP client and WordPress has pretty decent how to directions on how to use it with WordPress. See: FTP Clients

I’m unable to login to my wp-admin page as well, however, these steps do not resolve my issue … I goofed somewhere. I keep getting this message:

Error 500 – Internal server error

An internal server error has occured!
Please try again later.

It happened all of a sudden when I updated the URL in my User Profile from https://www.msbunn.com to https://www.msbunn.com/archives-all. Help!
