• I just installed WordPress 3.6 manually and everything appeared to be working perfectly. until I went to install a plugin from the dashboard. The issue arises when I try to search for available plugins, click on featured or anything that pulls information form www.ads-software.com.

This is the error message I get:

An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.ads-software.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.

I have read and read but I can’t find a solution or a reason to this problem.

  • Is your server behind a proxy server, load balancer and/or firewall system? This may cause issues when trying to access external resources (like www.ads-software.com or Google fonts, etc.) unless the proper firewall rules are in place. To resolve this, you will need to work with your host – if this is indeed the issue.

The theme I installed is using Google Web Fonts and they appear to be working. But the install issue remains. I will try to contact my host provider and see if they can shed some light on this like you are saying.
