• I am getting a strange error, after I install the plugin and click on the settings, I get “Sorry, You Are Not Allowed to Access This Page” Error. I can’t really disable any other plugins because the website will break. I am logged in already as admin.

@alexgraphicd that’s odd. Will investigate. Which WordPress and PHP version are you on by the way?

    (@qriouslad)

@alexgraphicd I do notice some issue with PHP less than or equal to v7.3.

@alexgraphicd I’m not yet able to replicate the issue you’re seeing. Do you mind installing my other plugin, Debug Log Manager and activate logging then visit the Settings for Floating Share Button again. Curious to see if any error is logged in the debug log.

thanks for the fast response. Using WP 6.2 and PHP 8.1. I installed your debug plugin but it didn’t log in the error.

@alexgraphicd hmm… can you share the /wp-admin/ URL of the page where the error occurred?… It should be /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=floating-share-button. In case you’re getting something else.

    Thread Starter AlexGraphicD

    (@alexgraphicd)

Yes it is the same like this: /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=floating-share-button

I will install it also on another website and see if it works, maybe there is a conflict with one of those plugins.

hmm…tried on 2 other installations and got the same error. I run 6.2 on all installations. Could the WP version be the issue or the hosting?

@alexgraphicd that’s very strange. This looks like a (WP) permission issue and not a hosting issue. Do you have a test site I can look into? If so, please send admin login credentials to qriouslad [at] gmail [dot] com and I’ll take a closer look once I have the time.

ok I just emailed you the login info. I also installed the plugin on a local testing environment using Flywheel “Local” app and suprise suprise, it still gave the same error…
