Can't Access Site After Transferring Domain to Bluehost

    Hello there,

    I moved the url www.meyerandmortimer.com from WP to a new Squarespace site with Bluehost now hosting. All my DNS settings are all present and CORRECT on the new site. I’d like now to access the old WP site but of course the:

    https://www.meyerandmortimer.com/pd-admin

    …takes me to an error page on the new site, plus, my old login details: name and password, are not working at all so I can’t get into my old dashboard. I’ve spent the morning looking for advice online and nothing appears to work. I’ve tried the many variations around wp-admin with or without the wwww to no avail. Someone please out there, please help!!!!

    Your site is now a Squarespace one so of course we can’t help you with that. If the DNS is managed by Bluehost then please contact them directly.

    These are WordPress software support forums not Bluehost support. If you contact Bluehost directly then then may be able to help you get your DNS sorted out or at least access to your old data.

    Hi Jan,

    Granted, my knowledge of WP is limited – it’s not so easy for the uninitiated so do bear with me. I am trying to access the dashboard of an old WP site; I still have to go to Bluehost about this?

    What is the old WordPress site URL set as?

    Hi Luke,

    I don’t know the wordpress site url, as that would’ve helped enormously. I took the site over so wasn’t there for its construction. I’d been using:

    https://www.meyerandmortimer.com/pd-admin

    To access which of course is not working now. I had found something online about meyerandmortimer.wordpress.com and had tried variations of that to no avail.

    That https://www.meyerandmortimer.com/ link doesn’t work because because it’s a Squarespace server. There’s no WordPress there. The link to meyerandmortimer.wordpress.com does not exist either.

    Who was hosting your site before? Were you on a host or WordPress.COM?

    Which is odd in that Built With lists that URL as using WP as the CMS

    But if you do go to say

    https://www.meyerandmortimer.com/wp-admin/

    It displays the 404 error message with BRICK-53.

    So it is definitely Squarespace.

    If you had changed your URL on your WordPress.com site to be old.meyerandmortimer.com then you would still be able to access it.

    But since you updated the DNS to point to the Squarespace site. You would not be able to access it.

    I am guessing Bluehost would just be the domain name part.

    I just switched my web site from WordPress.com to www.ads-software.com.
    How can I access my old content to transfer it? I cant access my old site, and the back up I had on my laptop from my site wont transfer? Also there was back ups on my WordPress.com dash board.
    Help..
