    Hello,

I can’t get access to the sitemap file when I click on “see sitemap” (in the general settings ) despite the fact that this option is enabled. It seems that Yoast doesn’t create the file. I checked all the folders on my website and there is no sitemap.xml.

    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Patrice

Our plugins create sitemaps on the fly. Using FTP or a file manager, you will not find a physical sitemap file at the root of your WordPress installation.

The Yoast sitemap is located here: https://example.com/sitemap_index.xml (replace example.com with your own domain)

    Thanks for your reply.
Actually that’s what I was doing first. Trying to see the sitemap file from the feature tab of the Yoast SEO general settings. It doesn’t work. (I was using Firefox). That’s my problem.

Indeed, if I try to access directly https://scierielabrue.com/sitemap_index.xml from another browser directly (Edge/Chromium browser) I can see 2 sitemaps (post and page).

But still what’s the problem with plugin ?

@patlal We checked on the sitemap at https://scierielabrue.com/sitemap_index.xml using Firefox and it loaded for us without any issue (see image here). Also, we checked the sitemap in an XML validator here and confirmed that there are no issues.

I agree with you. I tried to see the sitemap file from the feature tab of the Yoast SEO general settings from another browser and it works perfectly.

I guess that the problem on Firefox is related to an extension or a security parameter or something like that. I should have thought about it before.

    Anyway thanks for taking care.
