Can’t access subdirectories

I had a similar problem, while using a particular theme. When I changed the theme, the problem stopped.

Um. I’m not sure I understand your question. If your blog is in your root directory, then nothing is in the subdirectory so you should get a 404 messages when you access it.

Let me clarify this for you. I have a blog in my >root directory and I have added a sub direectory called /bananas

I want to access images or php files that I have uploaded to the bananas directory but when I type https://www.domain.com/bananas/ I get a 404 error. I have even uploaded an index.php file in there to see if it was only directory browsing that was the problem but I still get a 404.

Now, this second I’ve just tried https://www.domain.com/bananas/index.php and still get 404 even though I checked everything with SmartFTP.

Weird, must be .htaccess issue.

Any ideas?

I am having this problem too. I tried moving wordpress into its own subdirectory and then removing the wordpress stuff from the root’s .htaccess, but I’m still having the same problem acessing subdirectories.

well, i mseed around a bit, and i got somethin gkind of working, but it is hacky, and i dont like it.

so i just end up using subdomains and compeltly different directories!, but in my case, i could do that!, so

example.com
forums.example.com
