• Hello!

I’m trying to build my site but for some reason I can’t install new plugins. Bluehost says one needs to wait a little but been waiting for 2 days and still can’t see any new themes (only the ones that I’ve already installed).

This is a new issue and never encountered it before. Can someone help me how to resolve this?

    Thank you v much.

  • You’re talking about both plugins and themes. Do you really mean both, that you can install neither plugins nor themes?

What exactly fits if you want to install a theme, for example? And how do try it? The Themes Screen is described here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/appearance-themes-screen/

    Dear Threadi

I cannot install new themes. It says this as an error message: “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.ads-software.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.”

This is a fairly generic error text. Details about it should be in the error log in your hosting. You should be able to find out how to do this from your hoster’s support. If that doesn’t help, you could also enable debugging in WordPress as described here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/

If you can disable plugins, try doing just that to rule out that one of the plugins is responsible.

Another possibility would be a security tool in the system that your hoster provides for your website. This could block access to download themes. Your hoster should be able to detect this.
