In trying to follow along with an instructional video on creating a wordpress site, I installed Black Studio TinyMCE widget. As per the instructions, after ‘activating’ the plugin, I am supposed to then click on Widgets and see it in the widget area so that I can drag it into the Main Sidebar section (using the 2012 theme). Problem is, the plugin does not appear in the list on the widgets page.

So what do I do? I have tried, deactivating, then activating again, to sort of refresh the plugin. I’ve also made sure the plugin was updated. After viewing the video over again, I don’t see any steps I skipped, so how do I get the TinyMCE plugin to show up on my widgets page so that I can use it as suggested?

Any help will be most appreciated!! This stuff is driving me bonkers!!!

Are you looking for the right widget? As I said it’s now called “Visual Editor”. Don’t you have widget called “Visual Editor”?

    Hi Marco,

Thanks so much for responding| Yes, actually I do have Visual Editor (Thanks so much for the clarification), but now when I drag it to the main sidebar section, it will not open up to write or place a photo or anything there.

I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. The guy in the instructional video has no trouble at all. His just opens right up.

    Any advice?

PS: I am sorry I posted my original question in an existing thread. Please forgive me. Like I said, I am new at all this. I certainly do not want to break the rules and apologize for not using the correct forum protocol. It will not happen again.

    Hi,
Please could you post a link to the video you are referring?
When you say that the widget doesn’t open up, you mean that there’s only the widget title bar in your sidebar, or the widget opens but it has a simple textarea instead of the visual editor?
Which WP version are you using? And which theme?

    Hi,
I have the same issue with Visual Editor.
It doesn’t show the rich text option buttons at all and all I get is same old kitchen sink.

I installed a fresh wp a week ago and I’m using the “fruitful” theme.

    Hi Uval,
I just made a test with WP 3.8.3, Fruitful theme 1.4 and Black Studio TinyMCE Widget 1.3.3 and everything runs fine for me.
Please ensure to have the latest versions of everything. I’d suggest to selectively disable the other plugins you have installed, as usually this kind of issue is depending on conflicts with other plugins.

I did what you said and still no go..
    I’m using a fresh WP.
I’ll try to figure it out.
    Thanks

    Hi,

I am experiencing exactly the same problem with “hilgirl”. I am also watching a video “https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Jv47_VIBOQ” to create a website. Problem is, after installing the plug-in, i should see a tab called “black studio tinyMCE” at the widgets are and drag it into my widget and then i should be able to add image to my widget and extent its funcionality. I think the problem is just because the version of the WP or the version of the plug-in. In the video plug-in version is 0.9 and what we use is 1.3.3. Please someone help

@uval: Please check your browser javascript error console.

@makif: The widget is now called “Visual Editor” instead of “Black Studio TinyMCE”. The plugin’s name is still “Black Studio TinyMCE Widget” anyway.

Thank you very much Marco Chiesi!! : )
