• Hi,

I’m using the plugins qTranslate X and iThemes Security in my website.

    I have found 2 problems:
    1st
If the option “Hide URL language information for default language” is checked, after switching to second language (English) you can’t return to default language (Spanish). You can press in the link Spanish and page is reloaded, but keeping /en in URL. So it is still in English.

    2nd
If the option “Hide URL language information for default language” is unchecked, you can switch between default and secondary language correctly, but the login page won’t work (Which has been modified using iThemes Security plugin).
It doesn’t work because qTranslate X is redirecting the page “www.mypage.com/custom-wp-admin” to “www.mypage.com/es/custom-wp-admin”. So it shows 404 not found.

Any idea about what I can do? Thanks in advance

    Regards

  • The reason it does this is because it is detecting which language your browser is in and redirecting you there. Most probably because you have ticked Settings > Languages > General > Detect the language of the browser and redirect accordingly. You don’t have to untick it. Or disable hiding your admin login page. When you get the 404 page use the LANGUAGE SWITCHER to change the language. DO NOT edit the URL directly. Once you use the language switcher it will take you to your login page.
