Can’t access website using www.

    Greetings,

    I am hosting my own website using Ubuntu Server 16.04 and have noticed recently that if I try to visit my website using www. in front, it doesn’t work. I can only access it using https://mywebsite.com.

    There may be an obvious resolution but I can’t seem to find it by searching.

  • I believe you have to set that in your server or cpanel.

    Since I am hosting it myself I don’t have a cpanel. I did try placing www on the url under settings->general but that just breaks the site completely.

    Turned out to be a DNS issue.
