• I was just added as an admin but cannot access the admin site to edit content.

Error message: You are temporarily locked out

You have been temporarily locked out of this system. This means that you will not be able to sign-in or use several other features that may compromise security. Please try back in a short while.

Return to the site home page
Attempt to return to the admin login page (you may still be locked out)

I requested access via the error message and was sent:

If you did not request these instructions then you can safely ignore them.
These instructions will be valid for 30 minutes from the time they were sent.
? Click here to unlock your ability to sign-in and to access to the site. Do this if you simply need to regain access because you were accidentally locked out.
? Click here to unblock all IP addresses. Do this if you still can’t regain access using the link above. It causes everyone who is blocked or locked out to be able to access your site again.
? Click here to unlock all IP addresses and disable the Wordfence Firewall and Wordfence login security for all users. Do this if you keep getting locked out or blocked and can’t access your site. You can re-enable login security and the firewall once you sign-in to the site by visiting the Wordfence options menu and checking the boxes under advanced options to enable the firewall and login security.

I Still cannot access the Admin side of the site.

  • Hi, @jodybp. So, even after clicking one or more of those links in the email, you’re still not able to log in?

That is correct. I am sometimes allowed to enter my user name and password. But then I get the same error message.

I am not the creator of the website but I need to contribute and edit content.

The site owner set me up first as a user and then as Admin after running into these log on issues hoping that I would be able to get access as Admin.
