Can't access wp-admin / dashboard

  • Hi I have been migrating from wordpress.com to www.ads-software.com. I am a newbie when it comes to PHP and CSS. It took me forever to get my site to look the way I want. Finally I started installing some widgets. I think I was installing some of the google analytics widgets on my site. And bam I can’t seem to get into my dashboard or any admin pages. When I try going to localhost:8888/wp-admin/ browser doesn’t do anything for a minute and then pops up “The website encountered an error while retrieving https://localhost:8888/wp-admin/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly”. I have tried clearing my cache, rebooted the computer and tried Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

    Can some one please help, I am desperate. Thank you,
    The site I am working on is still not on the server. But it is still on wordpress.com if anyone wants to see it.

  • Try switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name.
