• My issue with the plugin is I can’t activate it.

I get a message saying ERR_CONNECTION_RESET and to check the proxy and the firewall.

I’ve followed the instructions: Chrome menu > Settings > Show advanced settings… > Change proxy settings… > LAN Settings and deselect “Use a proxy server for your LAN”.

I’ve also added the plugin on Windows Defender to allow. I’m using the plugin on WAMP

  • Hi hs1972,
excuse me for asking but can you please explain how this issue relates to Wordfence? It sounds like you may have some issues with your internet connection in which case you should contact your Internet Service Provider. IF you think this is related to Wordfence, please explain your situation a bit more. Thanks!

Many thanks for getting back to me. The reason I thought this was because I was uploading other plugins but this was the only one which was giving that error message. I didn’t know if there was any reason that maybe my firewall/virus checker would stop me uploading this? Sorry quite to this. I’ve added another security plugin for now until I can work it out. It’s obviously something my side. Thanks anyway.

    Hi hs1972,
I see what you are saying! If this only happens after you have activated Wordfence then yes, it sounds like it has something to do with Wordfence! My suggestion would be to check the servers error logs (error.log). These are usually available via your web hosts administration panel. If they are not, you can contact your host and ask for them. They should give you some clue as to why that happened. If you need help interpreting the error log you can share a snippet of it here or in a pastebin that you provide a link to. Remember to remove any sensitive or identifying information from it such as your domain name.
