    Hi Barry,

doing a project together with Marcel (Nostromo) and we wanted to use your plugin as widget to include in a sidebar. I’m trying to run this plugin locally at the moment, but I’m encountering the following problem:

After activation of the plugin, the install of the plugin ‘stops’ and gives an error after several seconds: “Woops. Something went wrong while linking” (screenshot: https://slack-files.com/files-tmb/T02S8B0G7-F04T2MMD0-304e40aa15/relpost_plugin_1024.png)

I have tried to install this plugin some 10 times by now, but still getting this error message and no extra information? During one of my trials to activate the plugin tho, I quickly saw an error message (luckily I copied this message) => Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:\..\wp-includes\wp-db.php on line 2448

What could this be Barry? Hope to hear from you soon, .. groetjes ;-P

    Hey,

I suspect that there is a plugin or theme conflict on your website. Could you please try if the error still occurs with only this plugin activated with a default WordPress theme (e.g. twentyfifteen). I understand this can be a bit of a hassle but it’s the only way we can be sure it’s a bug in this plugin.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Barry,

I switched to Twenty Fifteen, renamed my plugins-dir and made a new plugins dir where I only had your plugin. Activating becomes a problem when the wizard starts, see my initial comment for the ‘error message’.

After the error message I tried to ‘restart the wizard’ from the setup, but once again the problem as described earlier happened again.

So, the same problems remain even with Twenty Fifteen and all other plugins disabled? Looking forward to your reply!

    Groetjes!

.. PS: even with another theme and no other plugins installed I got the following message when clicking ‘Resume the installation wizard’ from your reminder/notice banner:

“Woah! It looks like something else tried to run the Related Posts for WordPress installation wizard! We were able to stop them, nothing was lost.”

    .. eh?

The message is because of the fact that the installer is still running is stored in the database.

Can you try to increase your PHP execution time and see if that fixes the issue?

    Hi Barry,

moving the site from local to a ftp-server seems to solved the problem? Is it possible the plugin doesn’t work in a local environment?

Anyhowz, problem solved! Thanks for your time, groetjes en bedankt!

I have the same Woops! message when trying to install. Using WPZOOM Foodica theme on WordPress. I deactivated, emptied caches, and reactivated it several times with the same result. Sometimes it gets to 93% and stops dead. I switched to Twenty Fifteen theme and same problem.

I am using a remote server (NetFirms).

    Please help.

    Peggy
