We we’ve been trying to install Yoast on our website and we’re facing several obstacles.

When I tried installing from the “Add New” menu, it keeps saying “This plugin doesn’t work with your version of WordPress.”

We were able to get around that issue by installing it through FTP.

But now, we can’t activate the plugin and it says “Not compatible with this version of WordPress” when we’re using the latest version: 5.3.6

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

UPDATE: Turns out that we’re not on the latest version of WordPress, but it says that we are which is confusing.

    Hi @dmpaez

The latest version of WordPress is 5.8.3, so you may want to look into upgrading to the latest version of WordPress before installing the latest version of Yoast SEO 17.8, just to ensure compatibility.

You can also review the plugin requirements here – https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/

@mikes41720 I only noticed that as well today. What I don’t understand is that when you go to [Dashboard]>[Updates] it says “You have the latest version of WordPress.” even though it’s not. Clicking on “Check Again” doesn’t help either.

Are there any caches enabled in your setup via plugin or server cache?

Please clear all your caching from your theme, plugin, server, CDN like CloudFlare or browser. If you are not sure how to clear caching from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from a browser use this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/.
