This has now happened on multiple sites in development, and even on a fresh WordPress install. After I install the Events Calendar plugin, I am unable to add new events. I only see Tags, Settings, Help, Troubleshooting, and Event Add-ons on the dashboard. It seems to be a permission error, but I am full admin on every instance this has happened, including on a fresh install. I tried googling the issue but I cant seem to find anyone having the same issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

edit: Installing the members plugin and adding the permissions manually for everything Events Calendar related works. But it feels like an admin account should already have full permissions on install.

    Hi @tcbct,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Sorry to hear about this issue you’re having. Let me help you.

I would need more information here. Could you provide me the following details:
    1. Hosting Provider.
    2. WordPress Version.
    3. PHP Version.

I’m curious. It is just weird that even with fresh installation, could you make sure to delete the previous installation of the plugin? Then before and after installing, could you clear caching both plugin, and browser.

Moreover, I would suggest doing the manual installation, please follow this article here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/downloading-and-installing-the-plugin/, and see if that makes a difference.

Let me know how it goes and how would you like to proceed.

    Best,
    Abz

    Hi Abz,

Thanks for looking into this! Here is that info:

    1. Hosting is with WP Engine
    2. WordPress version is up to date, 5.9.3
    3. PHP is 7.4

Deleted previous version completely, cleared cache, and tried a manual install and still getting the same issue. I also deactivated all other plugins and switched themes and no luck.

Not sure if you’re allowed to do this, but I could give you an admin login if you wanted to check it out.

    Hi @tcbct,

That’s not good. Seems the information you got back to me doesn’t have any known issue with what you are currently experiencing.

    Hey Abz,

Thanks for the update. Just to clarify, i am using the regular Events Calendar plugin, not Pro. I may be misreading, but on the ticket page it looks like i need a license to open a ticket.

Hi @tcbct, no worries. I’m really curious about the issue you’re having here. Could you provide me the direct URL to your website?

Moreover, could you try installing the older version of the plugin and see if it works on your end. You could just update it later on if that works. To be safe, please back up your website, and please do the testing on a staging site.

Go to this link here with the heading Advanced Option, then select any of the older version: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/the-events-calendar/advanced/

Let me know how it goes.

    Best,
    Abz
