Whenever I try to add a Hustle email embed to my site’s footer or sidebar (under Appearance > Customize), neither works. I’ve tried both Hustle and Hustle Legacy, too. It will show the custom title I type, but not the embed itself underneath it.

Please let me know what to do, my goal is to have email signups showing on either sidebar or footer.

    Hi there @agentrosehq

Have you ensured that the Shortcode option is enabled in your embed settings, under Display Options?

    Cheers!

Where is the Display Options/the shortcode option you speak of? I checked the embed maker in Hustle and I don’t see it, please lmk.

The embed is working on other parts of the site, if that means anything.

    Hi again @agentrosehq

Oops, I apologize, I should have posted a screenshot.

The option is located under the Display Options tab of your selected embed:
    https://monosnap.com/file/A6JmGcrpqaBtaeGADSRMunVAx7muXR

If that Shortcode option is not enabled, embeds added via shortcode will not display.

Those options are handy if you want to enable/disable an embed method throughout the site for any reason.

    Cheers!

I checked and that is enabled but it’s still not working with either hustle or hustle legacy.

    Lmk what to do.

    Hello @agentrosehq !

    Hope you’re doing well today!

I’ve checked your site and now I can see the embed in the footer (bottom right) – can you confirm it’s the one and if it’s working correctly now?

    Warm regards,
    Pawel

It only shows on the homepage’s bottom right, but that was just for testing – I tried moving it to the sidebar, which shows when you’re in the blog page (https://agentrosehq.com/blog/), but it doesn’t show there.

Please lmk what to do. Also, lmk if there’s a way for it to show on the sidebar while on the blog, but only show on the footer when on any other page.

    Hi @agentrosehq

I checked the blog page but I don’t see any JS error or the hustle codes.

When you refer to Appearance > Customize, do you mean the Appearance > Customize > widgets? If so, it may be a theme issue, we can embed the shortcodes but it is the theme that renders it.

    Could you try this test,

    – Go to your Embed, make sure the visibility rule is set to show everywhere
    – create a staging website https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-staging/ switch to a different theme,

    If the issue perssits.

Could you export your module and share here using Google drive or any sharing service?

It is on Gear Icon > Export https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/hustle/#module-dashboards

    Best Regards

Yes, I am referring to Appearance > Customize > widgets.

I updated the embed to show everywhere (except for the homepage which is my decision), and now it does show on the blog’s sidebar on the main page, but not when you click into an individual blog post. (FYI I only want it to show on the sidebar, I removed it from the footer).

gDrive link to module + a screenshot when you click into the most recent post can be found here (theme is not the issue):

    Hello @agentrosehq

I imported your embed and using the Hustle widget block with a default theme (Twenty TwentyOne) seems to work well.

Are you using the Hustle block widget or a shortcode in the single blog post sidebar?
Cause I noticed some difference between Display Options and Visibility that would make shortcode not to display.

    Display Options (enabled):
    – Widget
    – Shortcode

    Visibility (enabled):
    – Inline Content
    – Widget

If this is not the case, can you test to switch to a default theme as my colleague Patrick Freitas suggested above? Prefer working on a staging environment or having at least a full backup if you work directly in production.

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris

“Are you using the Hustle block widget or a shortcode in the single blog post sidebar?”
^ I’m using the Hustle block widget.

    When on the production site:
I tried using a shortcode just now and neither that nor the block widget worked, fyi. Both showed on the blog main page’s sidebar, but disappeared from sidebar when clicking into a post.

    When on staging site:
I made both Display Options & Visibility have the same settings, and also tried to view the embed in the Twenty TwentyOne theme within a staging site (I don’t see a sidebar option but it went to the footer and it didn’t show there, not even in the blog homepage, unlike the production site), but I didn’t see anything (see screenshot in folder link, this is the screenshot for the widget).

If you give me your email I can give you a user/password to access the staging site (do I just give you the staging URL? It’s supposedly https://agentrosehq.com/arhqstage1).
Lmk what to do from here.
