Can't Add Media into My WordPress Pages

  • Hi:

    I’m new to WordPress, and I’m trying to put a photo from my media library into a WordPress page. When I’m on the “Edit Page” screen, I place my cursor where I want the photo to appear on the page, I click on the “Add Media” button, I select the image that I want to place on my WordPress page so that the image has a check mark on it, and then I click on the “Insert Into Page” button, but nothing happens.

    I don’t even get an error message.

    It’s as if I never even tried to insert the photo onto the page, and I’m left with the exact same looking “Edit Page” screen that I had just before I tried inserting the photo.

    What do you think the problem may be?

    Welcome to the world of WordPress. It’s an awesome platform, and I hope you get to enjoy its benefits after we resolve this issue. ??

    It’s possible that a plugin conflict may be causing this. Try deactivating all of your plugins. Then try adding your photo again by using the same process you mentioned. If that works, then you can try to re-activate your plugins one by one to see which one caused the problem.

    Thanks so much for responding! I was kind of surprised with all of the expertise in here that no one had responded to me yet. What I’ve since discovered is I can post an image as long as I enter the source code for its URL location, but I can’t post an image by trying to insert it using the “Insert Into Page” button directly from the media library. I guess as long as I can do it this one way I can make it work.

    No problem, Jim. I’m happy to help as much as possible. It’s interesting to hear how it works one way and not the other.

    Well, if you’re able to get by with using the workaround, for now, surely use that method. When you have time, I would probably still look into getting that “Add Media” button option fixed, just to make things easier for you as you add more images to your site.
