    Hello,

I am having trouble with the Yoast plugin, when I add new post, it says:

‘The editor has encountered an unexpected error.’ It gives me three buttons next to it: Attempt Recovery, Copy Post Text, Copy Error.

I know it’s Yoast because I went through them all. I could switch to another plugin but I’d rater not. Has anyone got any advice please?

    Kind regards,

    Joe.

    Hello Joe,

We are sorry that you are unable to add a new post. First, can you confirm your version of Yoast SEO and WordPress? Also, please ensure that your current theme and all other plugins are updated.

    Thanks for following up.

While on that page, can you please check if there are JavaScript errors in your browser console? To do that, please refer to this article: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/

Same error here. This is what the console says:

Refused to execute script from 'https://staging-ericschwartzman.kinsta.cloud/' because its MIME type ('text/html') is not executable, and strict MIME type checking is enabled.

For anyone having this issue: installing the Classic Editor plugin and editing a post with the classic editor works.

To be honest I have just switched plugins now.

Latest update. We also have the Yoast Premium version and received support through that. In our case, a 301 redirect for /search was causing the issue. After removing that redirect the Edit Post works as normal.

Not sure if this is the cause of the error for everyone, but figured it might help someone reading this.

@zudie, Thanks for the updates. We’re glad to hear that you found a solution.

@teaz The JavaScript errors you’ve mentioned refer to other plugins, so we recommend checking for conflicts to find the plugin or theme that might be causing the problem.
