    Hi,

After the latest update of woocommerce i can no longer add a new product (the below error message shows) and when i make a change and save, the same error message shows up, but the change has actually saved, across all my woocommerce sites the error is exactly the same:

    This page isn’t working
(domain name) is currently unable to handle this request.
    HTTP ERROR 500

Hey @stephenturner – oh no! That definitely doesn’t sound right. Let’s see what we can do.

First of all, a 500 error is a server error. That means that the request sent to the server can’t be fulfilled properly. If you’d like to find out a bit more about that, this article on Kinsta describes it well: https://kinsta.com/blog/500-internal-server-error/

The same article also has a section on fixing them but our experience is that the vast majority of these errors are caused by a theme or plugin sending conflicting signals with WooCommerce core.
    ?
The best way to determine this is to:
    ?

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

On the frontend, it depends quite a bit on the theme you have.

Let’s start with the WP Dashboard. If you go to products, you can sort them there:

    Product sorting

Then, under Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Catalog, you can choose the ordering:

    Customiser product sorting

If this doesn’t show up there, it means your theme is not using this option of sorting in WooCommerce.
