I set up a custom role using the Members plugin for three customers so that I can show them only a handful of specific products they typically order in the shop by using another plugin called “Products Visibility by User Roles”.

While being logged in as said customer, when I click “Add to cart” the product appears to add. However, when I go to “View Cart” the product has disappeared. I did a test by changing the customer back to the Woocommerce default “Customer” role and I was able to add the product successfully into the shopping cart.

I need this custom role to work in Members so that I can use that group to taget the special products using the second plugin mentioned. It seems like there is a bug preventing the Members plugin from allowing the customer to add a product into the shopping cart.

PS – I also activated “Members – WooCommerce Integration” and “Members – ACF Integration” in the add-ons section thinking that would help, but it did not.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @studio2creatives,

Thank you for reaching out to the Members Support Team!

I understand the issue you’re experiencing with the Members plugin and the custom user roles. It sounds like there might be some capability restrictions with the custom roles you created. Let’s try a couple of things to resolve this:

    1. Check Role Capabilities: Please make sure that the custom roles you’ve set up using the Members plugin have all the necessary permissions enabled for WooCommerce. Specifically, they should have the same capabilities as the default WooCommerce “Customer” role. You can do this by navigating to the WordPress dashboard, going to the Members section, and comparing the capabilities between your custom role and the standard “Customer” role.
    2. Compatibility Check: Sometimes plugins can interact in unexpected ways. You mentioned using the “Products Visibility by User Roles” plugin. Can you provide me with a link to the plugin, or confirm the exact plugin you are using, so I can check for any known compatibility issues?

For further assistance, please provide a screenshot of the custom role’s capabilities. This will help us ensure that everything is set up correctly.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Best Regards,

Thanks for responding. I did make sure the new role I created had the same permissions as the default “Customer” role. And in fact, I actually cloned the default “Customer” role to make sure my new role had the same permissions applied. The only permission that is in the default “Customer” role and the role I created is: the “Read” permission under the “General” setting.

Here is a link to the “Product Visibility by User Roles” plugin: https://woocommerce.com/products/products-visibility-by-user-roles/

Here’s an image to my custom role permissions (same permission as the default customer): https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/etu0l8rm686br86d8qwfe/Screenshot-2024-10-28-at-2.37.45-PM.png?rlkey=j065ge2hs9kqjgessp72xtdb0&dl=0

    Hi @studio2creatives,

I’ve tired to do a test on my test website but I don’t have access to Product Visibility by User Roles plugin as it paid plugin but I tried to do a test using Product Visibility by User Role for WooCommerce plugin which worked fine from my end. So, I recommend contacting the plugin support team.
