Hey! So when I first started using Quiz Maker it worked perfectly. However, when I tried to create my third quiz it stopped letting me add questions to the quiz. When I selected questions to add and hit the “Select Questions” button, the pop-up would just give me an indefinite loading screen and time out. I tried numerous things to fix it. I tested different computers, wifi networks, and quizzes (even my old ones stopped functioning). I then tried updating it and then I tried to delete the plugin and reinstall it. So far, nothing has worked. What could have made it incapable of adding questions to quizzes?

    Dear @mcmas15,

    Thank you for the topic.

I am really sorry about the issue you are experiencing.

Please note, that, from the beginning, when you installed the Quiz Maker plugin, it worked fine and you managed to add questions.
The particular period of time has passed until creating the 3rd quiz and, most presumably, you have done a global change on your website.
We are not sure, but you may have installed a plugin or, for instance, have changed the Theme and, after that, you were not able to add questions to the quiz.

Most presumably you are currently using the PHP 8+ version.
I want to mention, that after the above-mentioned actions, a conflict occurred on your website connected to the WordPress Default admin.ajax.php. Because of this, our scripts can’t normally work.

There are two possible ways to solve the issue.

    1. You can do troubleshooting on your own, to understand which plugin (maybe, the Theme) is the cause.
Then, get in touch with their Support Team so that they can help you to solve the issue.

Firstly, before making any changes, make a DB Backup for your safety (you can use Updraft Plus).

Then, please deactivate the plugins one by one and clear the caches to understand which plugin is the cause.

Here is a useful link to help you with troubleshooting:

    2. Or you can to your cPanel and downgrade your PHP version to, for instance, 7.3.30 and check the case in this way.

Please check this and let us know about the outcome.

    Thank you.

P.S Note: Our plugin is compatible with the PHP 8+ versions.

Thank you so much for your help. I did what you suggested, and found that the issue seems to be coming from the “Elementor” plug in. However, that plugin is essential to the design of my website. Is there a reason the two would be incompatible? I only have the generic theme downloaded right now so it seems like it would be something about the plugin itself causing the issue

    Dear @mcmas15,

    Thank you for your reply.

I want to mention, that this case is already familiar to us.
We have faced this case several times recently.

I want to mention, that the issue doesn’t come from our side.
Unfortunately, the issue is not connected with us so we would be able to fix it.
The Quiz Maker plugin is compatible with the Elementor plugin and the issue comes from their side.

For now, firstly, make a DB Backup for your safety (you can use Updraft Plus).
Then, either get in touch with your Hosting Provider and ask them to downgrade your PHP version to, for instance, 7.3.30 or do it on your own via the cPanel.

After that, check the case in this way.

    Thank you.
