I have the free plugin for Updraft-Central.

I’ve added new sites as recently as this week without problem. Today, when adding a key to the mothership, it tells me that there is an error contacting the remote site.

The site is on the same host as all the other sites I manage. Security is exactly the same. No other special settings. Using Chrome for the mothership, Firefox for the remote site. All plugins were updated just minutes ago. WP 5.5.

The error I see in the Chrome (mothership) Console when I try to add a site key:

`SyntaxError: Unexpected token S in JSON at position 0
    at JSON.parse (<anonymous>)
    at Object.success (dashboard.min.js:1)
    at i (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)
    at Object.fireWith [as resolveWith] (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2)
    at x (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:4)
    at XMLHttpRequest.c (jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:4)
    jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2 Security check
    jquery.js?ver=1.12.4-wp:2 process_ajax_response: return code: error, error_code: json_parse_fail – parsed response follows’

No errors on the remote site Console.

And nothing in the UpdraftCentral log on the remote site

    @terriz

Can you please try to remove the site and then re-create the key from UpdraftPlus > Advanced tools > UpdraftCentral and add it to UpdraftCentral and check if it works?

    Thanks,

Ok, yes that worked. Meaning I clicked UpdraftPlus.com innstead of the “self-hosted dashboard” button, and logged into UDP.com. Although I didn’t have to copy and past the key, the site just appeared when I logged in.

Ok not pasting the key, it showed up at udp.com but showed a connection failure when I clicked to show updates. So I deleted it, created a new key, added it, and now it can check updates via the dashboard at udp.com.

So how do I get it working on my self-hosted dashboard instead?

@terriz Did you recently update to WP 5.5?

If so then there’s a patch released by the WordPress team, Can you please download and install the plugin below and check if it helps to fix the issue?

    Yes! Thank you.

How will I know when the issue is fixed in UDP and I can remove the patch plugin?

    Thanks,

@terriz Actually its issue with recent WP version 5.5 the plugin shared earlier was released by WordPress team to fix the issue.
